Couples Ski Adventure Cross Country

Almaguin Highlands is located just north of Huntsville, Muskoka, Ontario and a great destination for winter sports.  Today my husband and I are enjoying a romantic getaway at Arrowhead Provincial Park in Huntsville.  Wow the trails are fantastic with lots of fresh powder.  We are not great skiers but we still enjoy getting out for a little bit of exercise.
We took the Arrowhead Lake Trail which is 5.3km and a little too long for us but managed to do it in a hour.  There are so many trails to choose from at Arrowhead ranging from 1km to 9km.  You could spend the whole day there and bring a picnic, the cabin that the park provides is heated with a wood burning stove and has tables so you can enjoy your snacks or meals after you finish skiing.

The day only costed us $22 in total for use of the trails and facilities at Arrowhead. Then we went to Pub On The Docks for an amazing dinner with wine.  The fresh snow was still falling and the lake view from the Pub sure was amazing.   The Pub is located in down town Huntsville right beside the beautiful river.

Romantic Getaways are the best thing to do at a Cottage Resort.  We all need a break sometime and why not enjoy a cozy wood fireplace, winter lake views, romantic walks, onsite massage therapy and inviting hot tubs.  The best way out there to actually gets lots of rest and relaxation is to go to a quiet place and take some long needed down time.  Visit some great restaurants or make your own meals in a chalet or cottage with fully equipped kitchens.

Arrowhead Provincial has really great trails for cross country skiing, Hidden Valley Highlands has a great ski hill, Rockridge has a fun snowtubing hill, skating in the town of Kearney and snowmobile trails right at your doorstep.  Sand Lake Cottages located just north of Huntsville, Muskoka is a great destination to enjoy all of these fun activites.
